The Final Steps

To go with this, the schedule has multiple changes to help in these aspects. Still built on the creative curriculum, there is an increase in arts and crafts, as well as circle time with the teacher. Including reading, singing, or even dancing. The centers available also increase, with more options and development-based activities. There is a small group circle time in the beginning of the day to talk about what the class will learn that day. This is repeated at the end of the day so the class can talk about what it is they learned that day. Outside time is shared with the Preschool 2 classroom as a way of allowing interaction between age groups and, on a larger scale, truly tying the community together.

After the Toddlers classroom, we begin to help prepare your child for kindergarten through Preschool 1 & 2. In this classroom we begin to partner together with the parents to help prepare for potty training. This is a crucial step and a process that takes patience and dedication. On top of this, we begin to really bring the classroom together, reinforcing the community feeling developed when they were in the Toddlers classroom.

Circle time tends to be extended in this classroom, putting emphasis on subjects such as reading and writing. We begin to teach your child how to be able to read on their own, as well as reinforce the ability to both write their own names and maybe even their classroom friends. This final classroom truly is the most fun, as you get to see how your child has flourished, learned, grown to respect others, and loved learning.

Preschool 2
Arguably the most bittersweet time we have with your child. After watching them grow and learn so much, we ready them for the next big step, kindergarten. Preschool 2 is meant to ensure your child is ready and comfortable to move on to kindergarten. They have been fully potty trained and understand what it is like to be in a community. We now focus on the importance of certain behaviors. Such as sharing and how to respectfully take turns.
